TALES FROM THE OLD WORLD: WAR OF THE EVERCHOSEN 2
Exciting news... We are hosting a 2 day Warhammer 6th edition event at The Vale in Ashton-Under-Lyme on the 11th and 12th of November 2023 called ‘War of the Everchosen: Sylvania’

Time & Location
11 Nov, 09:00 – 12 Nov, 18:00
The Vale, 2, Vale Mil, Micklehurst Rd, Mossley, Ashton-under-Lyne OL5 9JL, UK
About the event
The end times never happened.
Archaon died in his failed invasion of the Old World and his successor Flem, Lord of a thousand Poxes (Nurgle champion and winner of the first War of the Everchosen), was betrayed by the followers of Tzeentch and Slaanesh, who abandoned him when surrounded by the armies of The Empire, The Dwarfs and the Elves*. Leaderless and pursued by the defenders, the endless horde of the Chaos invasion was pushed from the heart of the Empire and into the dark lands of Sylvania, forcing out the Vampire counts that have ruled there for hundreds of years.
Now the former lieutenants of the Everchosen and all races of the world make their move to claim the lands of Sylvania for their own - while the vampires return to retake their home.
Can you claim the title of ruler of Sylvania? (and bragging rights in the Warhammer Community?)
Over a 2 day fun thematic 6th-edition event, you will have five 2500 point battles to fight for the title.

#𝟏 – The horror and darkness of Sylvania
The environment your army walks into continually changes as your army gets deeper into the strange land of the Vampire Counts.
Starting from the 2nd game of the event, you roll a D6 before playing your game to find out what has changed in your environment (affecting both players)…
1. Vampiric hunger – The strange Sylvanian environment causes emotions to become uncontrollable and your army starts to feel the irresistible blood hunger of the vampires. All units start the battle frenzied and hate their enemy, but as soon as a unit or character wipes out an enemy unit in close combat (including pursuing and catching them), they become sated by the kill - losing frenzy and hatred but getting the rules of stupidity for the rest of the game instead (even if immune to psychology).
2. Zombies! – There are 5 points on the battlefield, all numbered. At the beginning of each turn (each game turn not player turn), Roll a d6 to see at which of these points has d6 zombies crawl up from the ground. Roll a scatter dice to see what direction the raised zombies face. They move towards the nearest unit they are pointing towards until in charging distance. The zombies can charge straight away as soon as they rise (as long as they are facing the right direction). On a roll of 6, both players instead roll another D6, the highest roller can place 2d6 zombies wherever they want on the battlefield as long as they are out of combat (maximum 6 on a front rank– no long lines of zombies!). These zombies are different than rolling a 1-5 unit and can not move the turn the arrive .
3. Nightmares – Vampiric Illusions contort and contract the look of the enemy in your mind. This makes all charges cause fear (as the unit sees their greatest fear charging towards them) and all lord characters cause terror. If immune to psychology or fear-causing yourself - instead of being scared, your troops become confused by what’s happening, making them slow to react. You still take a leadership test. If failed, its -1 to hit for that first round of combat.
-
4. Darkness Falls - A darkness covers the battlefield. Both players use surprise deployment (A screen is put across the middle of the battlefield. Both players deploy their entire armies at the same time, then the screen is removed to reveal positions of each army). You have 2 minutes to deploy – if you do not deploy in that time, your opponent chooses who goes first and gets 2 free d6 rerolls to use any time in the game. Just get your army ready on its movement trays before deployment!
5. Immortality – Strange magic from the dark land of Sylvania make you more powerful. All units have 5+ ward save except against magical attacks (including magic items) and all lord and hero characters get the regeneration rule (fire attacks stop regeneration).
6. Vampire future sight – Your army starts to see visions of the future and anticipate the enemies actions. Your army has +2” to all movement, shooting and spell distances. +4” on charge (except flyers). Each player also gets 1 free d6 re-roll per turn (can be used on rolls to hit, wound, save, cast or leadership tests.)
#𝟐 𝐓𝐡𝐞 Vampires want their land back
The different bloodlines of the Vampires abhor the mortal filth that has stepped onto their lands. They look to drive out those that defile Sylvania. From turn 2 of each battle, at the beginning of each players turn you roll a D6. On a roll of a 6, A flying strigoi vampire count arrives on the field from a scatter-dice-chosen table edge, controlled by the roller for 2 turns. However, it is frenzied towards CHARACTERS who challenge their rule of Sylvania. Essentially, if the vampire is within charging distance of an enemy character, the vampire MUST charge it, and challenges it if in a unit (a champion cannot accept in the characters place as they become terrified).
If any Characters are killed by an invading vampire, they are resurrected and become a vampire for the rest of the event!
- If your lord is killed he / she comes back as a Vampire Lord if your lord is on a 20mm or 25mm base (eg ancient treemen or greater deamons etc come back as normal) .
- If your character was a wizard on 20mm or 25mm – Your Character comes back as a Necrarch Vampire Count at the same level (You can use arcane items but can no longer use your former weapon or armour.). You use the same magic lores as you were using previously (not vampire lore).
- If your non-lord melee character is killed by the vampire - If mounted, It is resurrected as a Blood Dragon (along with all bloodline powers / rules). If on foot, it is resurrected as a Strigoi (unable to use magic items or mundane weapons like great weapons. But you can use the bloodline powers of the Strigoi to the same value as the magic items you were using in ‘your previous life').
If you have a special character killed by a vampire, instead of them becoming a vampire, there will be some interesting rule changes for them instead! (for good and for bad)
As a bit of fun, if you want to have an undead painted version of your characters – this would be more than welcome!!!
#3 – Special Named Characters – NOW ALLOWED!
Famous named special characters (Malekith, Skarsnik, Karl-Franz, Mannfred Von Carstien etc) are now ALLOWED. However, we only can have one version of that character per event.
For example, there can’t be 2 Beastmen armies with Khazrak One Eye or 2 wood elf armies with Orion. So if you want the character in your army, you need to buy a ticket to be able to reserve that character so nobody else uses him/her as it will be a first come, first serve system with characters. There is no reserving of characters without a ticket purchased.
Once you have purchased a ticket, we will contact you asking what character you have to use - if you do not want to use a special character that is fine!
You can only have 1 special named character per army when getting your ticket – with one exception… if someone brings Gotrek and Felix (why break up the old pals). Once all armies are in and a all those that want a special character has reserved him /her, you can then reserve special named ‘hero’ characters too.
However, Archaeon is dead and Teclis is injured in our alternative lore (from bringing down the last everchosen Flem. Background story on this coming soon). They both cannot be chosen in this event.

FAQS:
- Yes your army has to be fully painted (each model has to have at least 3 colours) and based on a correct size base.
- Yes proxy models are fine as long as they are easily recognisable (or at least with a bit of explanation!) and are on the correct base size.
- We cannot give refunds after July 1st 2023 as we have to pay for the venue by then. All we suggest after that point, if you cant make it, find a replacement to purchase a ticket off you on the Warhammer Fantasy Facebook pages.
- We cannot 'reserve' places at the event. Only purchasing a ticket guarantees you a place at the event.
- You cannot 'reserve' a special character until your ticket has been purchased. Please feel free to message Dave Warhammer on Facebook to see if your character is still available.
- When it comes to army lists, as long as it is listed in an official GW publication (inc white dwarf) it is allowed unless it is against any other of the event rules.
- Yes if the event doesn't happen for some reason, you will get a 100% refund
- Yes if you and your opponent would prefer to CHOOSE a environment/scenario instead of rolling for one, thats fine!
- Yes, if you prefer to not roll scenarios in your game at all and just have a straight 1v1 pitch battle, feel free.
GET YOUR TICKET BEFORE THE 30 SPACES ARE FILLED!
*A short story of that happened to the invasion of the Empire by Flem Lord of a Thousand Poxes after the first War of The Everchosen will be posted soon!
